Matthew 10:17-18 ‘But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; and ye shall be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.’

A person who does not abide by the religion of wealth and money is going to be delivered up and scourged for not behaving responsibly with their money, for not acting selfishly, and for not trying to save themselves from financial ruin.

Not so long ago there were debtor’s jails and if the conservative agenda in America gets its way, there will be debtor’s jails again.

Citizens who don’t carry out the sacred rituals and appease the three high-priests of finance will be labeled unnecessary “burdens” and be left to trust in the Creator they so vigorously profess.  They won’t be able to get healthcare, food or housing from the very government that was set up to protect them from getting sick, going hungry and being homeless.  The government will only protect their financial interests and leave everyone else to fend for their own necessities.  People who profess charity and love will be left to die on their poles (Christ told us to pick up our poles and follow Him), stabbed in the side, dogs licking their open sores.  Without wealth, the character of person we are will not be allowed to shine.

Matthew 27:43 ‘He trusted in the Creator; let Him deliver Him now. . .’

The world is operating under the spirit of the devil and that devious and wicked spirit wants you to lose your faith in the Creator.  To this end, he will use the world to persecute you, revile you, defile you, slap you, spit on you, drive nails into your flesh and crucify you.  The world will do all these evil things to you and worse, and never forgive you or help you.  In and of itself, the world and its governments and religions must hold some measure of authority over you through intimidation and fear.

Lyrics

Hold me now, oh hold me now - Til the hour has gone around - And I'm gone on the rising tide - For to face Van Diemen's Land

It's a bitter pill I swallow here - To be rent from one so dear - We fought for justice and not for gain - But the magistrate sent me away

Now kings will rule and the poor will toil - and tear their hands as they tear the soil - But a day will come in this dawning age - WHEN AN HONEST MAN SEES AN HONEST WAGE

Hold me now, oh hold me now - Til the hour has gone around - and I'm gone on the rising tide - For to face Van Diemen's Land (U2 - Van Diemen's Land)

Short on Words - Long on meaning

The ones that represent the government, religions and financial institutions that injured you will be the same ones standing by as you starve and freeze, their hypocritical greedy lips mocking and saying to you, as they did to Christ, “Save Yourself and then we will believe you!”

Don’t become one of these people.  Don’t become an onlooker.  Don’t stand by while others less fortunate than yourself are in need.  Don’t tell people that are poor, hungry, cold and homeless that it is their duty to save themselves.

Listen to the words of the chief priests and elders who mocked Yahshua while He was hanging on the pole.

Matthew 27:42 ‘He saved others; Himself He cannot save. . .’

If you want to be Christ-like, then your duty in this world is to save others – AND – whether they like it or not, it is the duty of others to save you.  It was the rich man’s duty to help poor Lazarus.  It was not Lazarus’ duty to save himself; and, in fact, by being taken up to the bosom of Abraham, Lazarus was saved.

Matthew 27:42 ‘. . . If He be the King of Yisrael, let Him come down from the pole, and we will believe Him.’

Those that obey the religion of money only want to follow a leader who knows how to save himself.  Right now, many who are speaking about the next election in this country want to choose a leader who has a business mind, who knows how to manage money effectively and efficiently.  That is their priority in a leader because money is their god.

America (nor any other country in the world) would ever choose Yahshua as their leader.

John 319 ‘And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.’

Greed is not about what you have.  Greed is all about what you do.  And most people in this world prefer to stay in the dark because their deeds are evil and covetous.  A leader like Christ would expose them.

The three-priests of high finance don’t care about the inside.  They just want to make the outside of the platter clean.

1Corinthians 16:14 ‘Let all your things be done with charity.’

A “credit report” is a false light for a false world that exposes nothing but monetary sins.  It is a book of iniquity for those who are irresponsible with money, the great god they serve.  It is a place where those who trust in uncertain riches can keep tabs on those who behave like the poor widow, and foolishly waste all their living.  (Mark 12:42-44)

The worldly need to make sure they don’t ever trust their riches into the hands of those fools who don’t hold money to a sacred standard.  Charity is fine with the rich, as long as it comes from their abundance and doesn’t affect their self-sufficiency.

Trusting that some invisible “God” will come along and save people is foolishness; a fable for children and the imagination of the mentally ill.

2Corinthians 5:7 ‘For we walk by faith, not by sight.’

1Corinthians 3:19-20 ‘For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with Yahweh.  For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.  And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.’

The Book of Life

Philippians 4:3 ‘And I entreat thee also . . . my fellow laborers, whose names are in the book of life.’

There is nothing new under the sun, and that which is new is of old times.  Keeping score, keeping tabs, keeping records and monitoring the behaviors and deeds of other people are as old as life itself.  Mankind has been trying to play “God” since they first took of the temptation offered to them by the devil in the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 3:5 ‘For the Creator doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.’

Yahweh has books as well – better books than those the accountants working at Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian have.  Yahweh’s book is filled with the whole history of mankind, every sin men have perpetrated on other men, as well as their sins against His basic commandments that should have provided all human life with peace and liberty.  That is a book that puts all of mankind’s books to shame.

1Timothy 1:8 ‘But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully.’

But mankind doesn’t use it lawfully, so there was a need for a change to the priesthood.  The priesthood as well as the people listening to the priesthood had grown covetous and greedy and began praying and serving at the altar of money.

Revelation 20:12 ‘. . . and the books were opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.’

It seems that according to the story of Lazarus and the rich man, having a job and making money is not “works” in the Lord’s book of life.  In fact, making money and being a benefit to the society you live in, has nothing to do with being a good Christian.

Don’t let Satan and the world fool you into believing that wealth and the health of the economy are the beginning and the ending of all that is important in life.  If you do, then businessmen become your angels and money becomes your “God”.

Hebrews 11:1-2 ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it (by faith) the elders obtained a good report.’

The most important report any of us are ever going to receive is the one we get at the final judgment.  Although we all sin and there are numerous blemishes on that report – we are not alone – and we who truly believe in Christ have an advocate willing to forgive those of us because we trusted Him and served Him during our lives here on earth.  We were not afraid to give our all when all was asked of us – by Him – not our governments, denominations and financial institutions.

There are really only two schools of thought when it comes to debt.  There is the world’s way and the Lord’s way.

I prefer the Lord’s way.

++++

TWO WAYS YOU CAN GO

(The world’s way)

Matthew 18:29-30 ‘And his fellowservant fell down at his feet and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.  And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, til he should pay the debt.’

Matthew 26:75 ‘And Peter remembered the word of Yahshua, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice.  And he went out and wept bitterly.’

Luke 22:45-46 ‘And when He rose up from prayer, and was come to His disciples, He found them sleeping for sorrow, and He said unto them, Why sleep ye?  Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.’

John 18:39-40  ‘But ye have a custom, that I should release one unto you . . . will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?  Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas.  Now Barabbas was a robber.’

Acts 4:26 ‘The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against Yahweh and against His Anointed.’

Galatians 5:19-21 ‘Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like . . .’

(Yahshua’s way)

Matthew 6:9-15 ‘After this manner therefore pray ye:  Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.’

Colossians 3:13 ‘Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another. . .’

Luke 7:47 ‘Wherefore I say unto thee, her sins which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much:  but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.’

It’s time we, especially Christians, started loving more and forgiving more.  We need to destroy the idols and the false “credit reports” that keep people in bondage to the gods of wealth and money.  These uncertain riches only serve to hide the true character of people who are living faithfully in Christ and giving of all their living.  Give all and give abundantly.  Don’t weigh the costs of what your faith and heart instruct you to do.  Step out on faith when the Lord commands you to do so.

Those who want little forgiveness from you and who give little forgiveness to you also love you little.  Why in the world would you listen and obey them?  Selah.

Amen

Allen, again voted up, I include funny, because this lesson is so simple, yet so hard to grasp for many who fail to understand that there exists so many things provided by Yahweh on this earth that hunger for instance can be satisfied by work and faith. A mans pantry may be filled with food in this day, yet a man looks at all of it and craves what he doesn't have and will drive 30 miles for a garbage burger and when all is said and done he has spent 40 dollars to curb his hunger when he had food in his pantry to fulfill his hunger for 15 minutes work. Now and again I'm guilty of making a two hour trip for good old Dairy Queen soft serve ice cream, it's a treat and enjoyment for myself and a jeep full of dogs that love to ride as well as get ice cream, they are working dogs who often do their jobs so well that I enjoy them and repay them, but not at the expense of sacrificing toward greed. Man is considered much smarter than the dogs; I often question that. Each dog gets her own bowl of ice cream, each knows which corner of the back of the jeep is their corner. The smallest dog gets the passenger seat. None of them invade the space of the other, the fastest eater waits on the slowest to finish before moving around and invading the space of the other. It is awesome to me that they come by this honestly as even the placing of 5 different bowls and amounts to fit the size of each, all placed in the spot of the dogs every day eating place. If one dog only eats half their bowl, none of the others step up and take it. If I put the bowl of another dog in the wrong place, that dog will not eat the food from it. I'm accused of training them to do it and I deny that as they seem to have worked it out on their own. When I move the bowls to the proper place, that was my choosing as far as training, then they eat. Often if they are not hungry they leave it for later and it is always there. They settled that between themselves with no growling or fighting, it just is. If animals can work out the respect of each other and not hold greed or the want to take from another, it amazes me why the questionably smarter life form, man, cannot do the same, it makes me wonder if they could speak, if they might offer the portion they don't eat to another. God made them and has seemed to program them to loyalty and unconditional love for each other and I get to be part of the gang as well.

Thank you for this message that has rattled the rusty cogs of my brain to see more of Yahweh's examples as well as thinking more about less being a gift.

Many blessings and love to you and yours,Peace, dust

Dusty, this is an awesome tale. You need to write this as a hub and give everyone a Bible lesson. I read it to the family here and we had ourselves a little assembly based on your teaching-comment. If only mankind could be as wise as your dogs. We live in a world where a person will see your bowl of food and snatch it from you in a heartbeat - and I don't mean the poor hungry guy - I mean the rich fat guy who already has too much. He'll take everyone's bowl and feel justified doing it. And if you can't buy it back from him, he'll let you starve. The back of your pickup truck is a microcosm of the world. Think on that next time you feed them. The whole world is summed up in the back of your truck. Thanks for giving us a wonderful lesson. Allen Peace

Allen, unfortunately if I were to re-write this as a hub, hub pages would un-publish it do to plagiarism. They just did it to Mickey and he had to write and point out he was the original author. They allowed it, one time limit for such an allowance.

Now with your knowledge of scripture to point out certain increments, and your reply and a thesaurus we might pull off a joint effort message for the multitudes. I'm game, Peace Dusty

Dusty, the thought-police, amazing. I don't make any money off these hubs, but even those who do, it can hardly be much. It's not like anyone is making their fortune off this stuff. Sue and I were just watching a special on the "middle-class millionaires" and it is crazy how uncomfortable these people who have so much still feel. They are not content with their bowl in the corner, even if their bowl is overflowing and bigger than almost every one elses. What a sad world it is. Thankfully we have a contentness that they will never find - Praise Ye Yah! Peace

Again, the sadness of the reality of capitalism slaps us in our spiritual face. I was talking to a neighbor the other day who was disgruntled because another neighbor had too many people living in the apartment. I asked how did their living arrangement affect his life to which he had no response and went on his way grumbling.

I so agree with you recommendation: "Don’t let Satan and the world fool you into believing that wealth and the health of the economy are the beginning and the ending of all that is important in life." Powerful statement.

As far as I am concerned, credit reports as mere tools of the enemy, Satan and means no more than the meaning we choose to give to it.

Great hub AW. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Amen and amen brother AM! Preach it from the roof! God bless you brother man!

Hallelujah! This business world we live in is a big grist mill and we're the jackasses grinding and being ground. We are in slavery to BIG business. Big business says "we", "they" cannot and will not take care of its people. Let's quit taking care of them. God bless you AM!

Saundra, indeed. It is amazing sometimes what people are offended by, but for many, property values are incredibly important. When we were losing our home those many years back, we had trouble with the upkeep, and we actually had a anonymous neighbor put a note on our car windshield demanding we fix the place up or get out. In many neighborhoods, neighbors are not there for neighbors. Their homes are an investment and the people around them are irrevelant. Keeping score of how faithful we are to money shows just how honored the dollar is. Peace

Micky Dee, while I got a roof to stand on - I will preach it. When they come and take that away - I'll stand on a hill, a rock, anywhere I can. The wealthy are trying to own every piece of this land. They want everything privatized and exploited. They want to use every ounce of energy we have, so they can get richer. Their scales of justice are tilted in their favor. Praise the Lord - He can tilt them back for us - He is the truth! Peace
