If You Are Alive, You Will Buy

I have obtained some urgent and troubling news from the future. From an unspecified source that I cannot name for this person does not yet exist but will in the coming months, I have received a copy of an upcoming federal resolution. The dates and the names involved appear fuzzy on the contract, so I can only hope this fuzziness means that this is a sign of what might be and not what will be. The document reads as follows. . .

As of (fuzzy date included), the federal government of these United States will dispense with all the public funded police forces and fire departments, just as it did national healthcare. These blatantly socialist activities which have been under much scrutiny will cease operations immediately. The free citizens of our nation, the responsible taxpayers have spoken. We are turning the police work and firefighting duties over to the private sector. From now, you will choose the privately contracted police force you want patrolling your driveway and casing your grounds. You will choose the firefighting unit you feel best fits the intimate needs of your family’s home. If you don’t want twenty-four hour surveillance, you don’t have to have it. If you don’t want immediate responder’s on-call at all hours of the day, you have that option. You are in control. You can specify the exact plan and explicit addendums you want in the contract and pay accordingly. It is our belief that the safety of this nation’s internal security is best served by those distinguished and enlightened entrepreneurs who have the closest ties to their communities and can provide direct care to the needs of the people. If we analyze the progress of many third world nations, we can see clearly that this system of mercenary safeguarding has been working for centuries.

Now, let me be clear about this. If you have your own security team in place already, no one is saying you have to change. If you are paying for protection from some bat-wielding fellows in your neighborhood and you are satisfied with that service, you can keep it. No one is saying you have to change anything. But it must be understood that from now on, no one in this nation is going to help anyone else unless they are willing to pay for that help. Everyone will carry their own weight. The federal government is no longer going to step in and send help when your house starts afire. That is not our job. The federal government is no longer going to intervene when you are mugged, robbed or shot at. That is not our job. Our job is to make sure that the businesses of this nation get your business, even if we have to mandate that you purchase their services. You alone need to accept this responsibility and prepare yourself and your family for any unforeseen contingencies that occur in life. It is not much we are asking. All we are asking is that you be accountable and pay someone else for your possible future debts. Plan ahead.

As of (date fuzzy again), the ‘If You Are Alive, You Will Buy’ bill will go into effect. There will be a mandatory buy-in clause for all citizens. Those who do not purchase a police force for their family’s wellbeing and a fire company to insure the safety of the home or apartment they live in will be fined. If these fines that are levied are not paid in a reasonable court appointed time, the irresponsible parties will be brought to justice. They will be incarcerated and their children ordered into protective placement. It is time we got serious about this. This is long overdue. The socialist and the communist are knocking at the door. Illegal immigrants are streaming across the borders. The only way to prevent their vicious intrusion on the freedoms and bank accounts of responsible citizens is to do away with any public options, with anything that benefits the communal needs. This nation will no longer take a broad view of any socialist agenda that diverts taxpayer’s money to the common good. Everything is for sale, and every service is a potential financial stream. We are steering this nation into those rapids of flowing money and never looking back. And may the Lord have mercy on those unfortunate souls who, of their own volition, fall overboard during our journey. I have to believe that there was probably no helping them anyway. Keep your eyes forward people. Progress is our agenda.

The day a government forces any of its people to purchase a service, is the day tyranny begins. The tyrants ‘god’ is money for from it flows worldly authority.
