Light My Heart With Truth

The Eye
John 1:4-5 ‘In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.’
Are you really living? Are you really alive the way Christ wants you to be alive?
Matthew 6:22-23 ‘The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. . .’
What did Yahshua mean when He said, your eye be single? If you want to understand the truth of this, you must look at the surrounding verses.
Matthew 6:21 ‘For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.’
To truly be walking in the light of the life of men through the Messiyah Yahshua, you cannot split your loyalty between things of the earth and things of the heaven. They are not compatible. It is prevalent in Western Christianity to merge the two but it is not scriptural.
Matthew 6:19 ‘Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth. . .’
I think Yahshua is being about as straightforward as He can possibly be with this saying.
Matthew 19:21 ‘Yahshua said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me.’
Our world is far from perfect. We live in a world that always focuses on ‘earning’ and scoffs at giving. And yet, we know that when Yahshua called His disciples to Him, they had to walk away from their lives, from their occupations, to follow Him. Christianity has to be true in every situation, in every condition on earth, in order to be true. The idea that you can be anything you want to be in life only holds water in certain places of the world, like America. For the majority of people on the earth, even so still in America, daily survival is still a day by day faith.
Inherit Eternal Life
Faith in Christ has to be constant and consistent in every element of human endeavor, even the most tragic and evil. If you what you are believe about Christ would not hold up in the desert of the Sahara, in the steppes of the Ukraine and the rainforests of Brazil, then there is something not quite right with the belief. Christianity is not based on comfort, conformity or success in this life. It is based solely on an everlasting life.
Matthew 19:29 ‘And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.’
That is a hard saying, and anyone who thinks it is not, is not seeing it in the true light by which it was said.
When I began my walk with Christ, and truly gave myself to the Lord, I alerted my wife to the change. I told her that if I, if we were going to do this, it would be all the way. No one, not even her, not her feelings and emotions would be allowed to come between Him and me. I told her that once I started this journey, I would see it through for the rest of my life and not wait for her. I prayed with her that she would follow – and so far she has. I did not stop loving her that day; I simply let her know that my first focus now, my priority and single sight was going to be on the everlasting life through the light. As my wife, as my helpmate, it was her duty and her responsibility, if she wanted to remain yoked to me and not feel forsaken, to follow. We then took this matter up with the children. We let them know the seriousness of the new walk and how it was now their duty to follow us.
When Abraham was called to leave his home, he had to leave all the comfort and security of that which was familiar. His family had to follow him and endure by faith, all he was choosing to endure by faith.
When we follow Christ, we put our faith in Him, lock, stock and barrel, and not in our ability to devise answers and succeed. Yes, we have a mind to think with, and reason with, but Yahshua has showed us that we are weak when we rely on it – and we can be downright evil.
Ephesians 4:17-18 ‘This I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of the Creator through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.’
As a Christian, we should have so much light inside us, so much truth filling our hearts, that no matter what the world thinks of us, no matter where we walk in the earth, we are full of love and never alienated from our Creator – we know we are a success in His eyes even when we have nothing.
Ephesians 4:22-23 ‘That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.’
The thing to really grasp about the light of Christ is how much power there is in the weakest, darkest times of life. When everything seems at its worst, we, with godly courage, trust in eternal life.
Domes of Darkness
2 Corinthians 12:10 ‘Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.’
No matter what you do in life, your body is going to break down and eventually give out. You are going to get weak, old and finally arrive at a day of reckoning when all your sins bring your flesh life to an end.
Even looking closely at 2 Corinthians 12:10, we can see how we avoid this truth in this day and age. We have the sorcery of legalized painkillers readily available to us. Pharmacies dole out over-the-counter, as well as prescription pain relievers at a rate unheard of in all of history. If we hurt, we see nothing wrong in disguising the weakness. And make no mistake about it, painkillers are not healing anything. Painkillers conceal the truth. Although some part of your body is injured, the rest of the body does not want to acknowledge it. The voice of the less honorable part calling and crying out for help is conveniently silenced. (1 Corinthians 12:22-27)
Many in the rest of the world will never know pain relief like Western society does. They, if they are Christian, have to learn to take pleasure in their weakness, to embrace the light in them and know His grace is sufficient.
Matthew 6:23 ‘. . .If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!’
Avoiding the truth is darkness. People have tried in many shapes and forms to justify capitalism and greed as a result or consequence of Christian freedom but that philosophy never holds up to the Scriptures. Perfect love casteth out all fear, but all governments fear. They serve the one thing they believe keeps them safe.
Matthew 6:24 ‘No man can serve two masters. . .Ye cannot serve the Creator and mammon.’
This is where we get the hard facts that many don’t want to hear, that many avoid. When you follow Christ, your singleness of sight sees only Him and His purposes for your life. If you look at the truth of Christianity everywhere around the world, not just in America, Christianity is not about what you can make of your life, but rather, what He can make of your life.
Matthew 6:25 ‘Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life. . .’
Civilization, all civilization is darkness. Cultures build domes around nature and block out the light of the Creator. They say to the Creator, ‘We have seen your floods and storms and famines and don’t trust you to take care of us, so we will do it ourselves. Leave us alone.’
When we rebuke the world for their dark certainty and dome building, we find that the Lord, who is everywhere, fills our hearts with His light. Even in the midst of a dark dome we become a light and we see clearly everything beyond the dome, beyond nation and empire.
Matthew 6:33 ‘But seek ye first the kingdom of the Creator and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’
These things to be added unto us are not great riches like prosperity preachers say. These things are simply the basic necessities of the body like food, drink and clothing. (Read Matthew 6:31-32 to see the light)
Matthew 5:14 ‘Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.’
The last thing people ruling the dark dome want inside the dome is remainders of the world outside the dome. Administrators of darkness work very hard to destroy cities of light, messengers from outside the dome.
John 3:19 ‘And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.’
Light has entered the dome. The evil works of mankind, the building of nations and civilizations on slavery and violence are declared.
Mankind does not want to go “backwards” and start trusting an unseen ‘God’ again. They don’t want to rely on the Holy Spirit to get them through life. They are set in their ways and they will do their utmost to destroy every light from the outside, extinguish every flame. They will do everything they can to keep the light of life out of this world.
John 3:20 ‘For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.’
When we repent, we acknowledge our deeds and announce that they were evil. We also declare our decision to not go back and live that old way again. We don’t wait for the light to come and destroy the darkness in us. We take our darkness to the light and offer it up.
John 12:46 ‘I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness.’
We are a changed person in Christ. We have put off the old man. We start putting all of our treasure in heaven and forsake everything of this world for His sake. The worldly value things more than they value people. When a price tag can be attached to helping those in need, something is truly wrong and truly dark.
Amen

AMEN! Your statement, "As long as the Lord knows we were on His side the whole time, trying our best to maintain truth and peace, we are anxious for that day. " reminded me of the gospel song, Who is on The Lord's Side?" I am and I am anxious for that day. "Come, Lord Jesus, Come."
Forever His,
Allen, these are some cold hard facts to most, including myself, shamefully. I have encamped in the center of many acres and built a cave to keep the world out. Fully armored. Sick and tired of what the world has to offer. Then to appease but 1 man I took this computer and let the whole world in. A world that is not available on the streets even here in the U.S., I can choose from a diverse world with all things available good and great to the perverse and small.I know 'cuz I strolled about some, and I had to stay my mind from telling my hand to show my eyes what the search engine had produced for a twisted menu of items to be seen or read. Used for good the internet can be used to gain much knowledge, used for bad it is the most evil thing that has evolved on this planet I've ever seen, it is sans any age limit, in it's self it can destroy, seems like, many things. I wonder the reaction of a husband or wife catching the other on some of the sites, I'm sure it cannot be good. I sometimes receive e-mails with this stuff on them, people seem to think that I'm a single man and it's normal for us "guys" to want to see some naked women and to a point I guess they are right, I'm guilty once again, but the draw is over, I don't care to see it as it got way to perverse and over the top for me. I grew up looking at porn, National Geographic and the Sears and Roebuck catalog. I remember Pops asking "what you shopping for?" and he'd slap me on the back of the head and jokingly tell me folks would laugh at me if I was wearing that stuff. Man has stuff changed in the shopping catalog. A friend told me his son ran up a $1200.00 plus bill on calling a phone number using his credit card, then turned around and used his checking account numbers off a check to do it when he couldn't get to his credit cards anymore. How did he learn this stuff? The internet! All that is off topic I suppose. To me the internet has provided man a way to accept sin and be bathed in satan him self. Saying "I'll just take a quick glance. Has anyone rebuked a friend for sending this stuff in a e-mail? I have and folks I heard from regularly disappeared never to mail me again, go figure. Do people find it easier to send a perverse mail than a message of Yahweh and Yashua? I think they do! That is sad when you think that sending a car engine to a man drowning in a lake of sin is better than a word or even signing them up for a free Bible both online and one material one that they could carry out of the house to a meeting or just to sit under a shade tree to read. If you have not experienced it, try it as you can shrink your address book rapidly. I sometimes wonder why my father went to church at all, seems he was prepared for a sermon that either bored him or maybe steered him elsewhere in the Bible, he always had several book marks, a machinists ruler and a light blue fine point roller ball ink pen and slots cut in the bindings to hold all his stuff. The morning hand outs tucked in the book. I think when he got bored he'd do something else or underline certain writings using his ruler as his guide, write notes in the margins of the book. If he was really bored he'd fill in the O's in the hand out or draw a cross on the back, he wore out several bibles and I have them, there is a whole world of study in his writings in the margins, you can move from the 1940's to the Y2K early year and see how he progressed and grew. The light filled him in a special way. He was the teacher of myself as well as who else? I don't know he has many sins covered with my little brother and I, he lived long enough to see us come to fruition with Christ. He saw us be Baptized, he saw a weak flame go out in us, then he saw us return and the flame flutter into light as we once sat in a church all together when my brother came here for a couple of weeks. It seemed he never was proud of his sons for our way of life wasn't what he thought it should be, the wise old coot was right and we returned to the way he taught us to go, I think he was happy and ready, the night he left this world for a good old fashion Nap awaiting the day he is called to rise up and be judged.
So I see great importance in keeping your lamp lit and plenty of oil on hand to feed it.
Thanks for that oil supply for today! Sir!, Heart felt Love and Peace, Dusty
Amen, the things of this life are temporary, but things of the spirit are eternal lasting forever. The truth shall make you free!
Allen, a couple of things you popped made me laugh out loud!
"a bit of a tan" I laughed in the Marine corp boot camp it was "light green trash bags and dark green trash bags" I laughed then too and had to an hour of physical torture at the hands of a drill instructor.
"The world is too fast for him now and he avoids it." I understand totally this feeling, I get boisterous with my key board, but if you ran up on me in town it'd be different if as a stranger you tried to pry a conversation out of me. I just don't play well with folks that ask to many questions. Anyway the weather is nice and will soon be hot so I been plating as well I've got 20 unread hubs, but they have to wait as I'm out piddling. Peace dust
AM Werner, Excellent presentation! Yes ! “Light my heart with truth!” God really created us so to center our lives around Him! The children of Israel despite their disobedience are a great example of His constant presence being with them. Now we as believers have His indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit with us! Therefore daily we ask “Give us today our daily bread.” feed us with your Word and fill us with your Spirit, so our Lights can shine brightly in a world that is growing darker. The world at large does not want to acknowledge God! You are right many would rather acknowledge “nature..”
It is a wonderful thing when husband and wife are on “one accord” when it comes to living for the Lord! There is an unexplainable unity that exists when God’s presence is welcomed in the home The children benefit greatly from the harmony! This does not mean you always agree but it means that the “Lord’s Way” is the main priority! You settle things His WAY!
You have made many interesting and thought provoking comments, Again this was very good
We must really be prayerful. There is so much to try and discount living for the Lord! So many are being deceived, believers as well… There is much spiritual warfare to divide. The enemy has sowed many tares with in the Church of God! Spiritual discernment is key! No need to worry just be aware of the many devices he uses! The spiritual armor is able to deflect “all the fiery darts” Through Jesus Christ we have the victory!
“As a Christian, we should have so much light inside us, so much truth filling our hearts, that no matter what the world thinks of us, no matter where we walk in the earth, we are full of love and never alienated from our Creator – we know we are a success in His eyes even when we have nothing.’’ Amen! This is because with Him we have everything that we with will ever need!
Thank you for sharing, In His love & Blessings!

AM, People are to be valued?
It is too sad that the general attitude in the world disregards human worth. Many animals are of more value. Throughout the history of mankind, man's inhumanity to man has proven repeatedly that man is man's worst enemy.
The truth of the matter is clear: "Mankind does not want to go “backwards” and start trusting an unseen ‘God’ again. They don’t want to rely on the Holy Spirit to get them through life. They are set in their ways and they will do their utmost to destroy every light from the outside, extinguish every flame. They will do everything they can to keep the light of life out of this world."
Since this darkness has penetrated the very body of Christ, my sense is that we will not see this light again until the coming Jesus Christ.
Last night I was meditating in the spirit and I imagined hearing Jesus say, "Okay, times up, the inmates are running the prison, enough is enough, it is shut down and show down time."
Forever His,
