Wisconsin's Lake Kegonsa In Pictures & Scriptures
73
Lake Kegonsa State Park in Stoughton, Wisconsin is a 342-acre camping, hiking, boating and fishing park opened on August 12, 1966. It is the "First Lake" of the famour "4-Lakes" region around Wisconsin's capital city, Madison. The other three lakes are 'Mendotta, Monona and Waubesa.
Kegonsa is a Ho-Chunk Indian word meaning "Lake of Many Fishes."
Lake Kegonsa is called the 'First Lake' of the four lakes around Madison because travellers who came north up the Yahara River, encountered this lake first.
Lake Kegonsa is a wonderful place for boating and fishing, and for people who want to enjoy a quick easy camping trip near civilization. Although you feel like you are away from everything in the woods and marshes, the not-so-distant sounds of city life intrude from time to time including an occasional police siren and airplanes. Also, when the wind and the tides are blowing the wrong way, the swimming area is invaded by debris and makes swimming uncomfortable. We enjoyed our time here, especially the campfires, but we prefer to find places much more remote than this. We probably will not return here again but the time I spent with my daughters was priceless. Amen

Beautiful and uplifting hub. The spider and fire photos were particularly striking, but all were great and you matched the verses up with them perfectly.
Thanks for sharing. Voted up, useful, awesome, beautiful and interesting.
What beautiful photos! That spider web was amazing as were many of the other photos. It looks like a wonderful place to hike and enjoy nature and use your obviously excellent photography skills. Up and beautiful!
Allen, priceless indeed! My favorite memories of my dad were his taking us out on adventures. We often went in the fall all the way to spring. The deserts and mountains here in Arizona range from sand to varying types of cactus to forests and up to the tree lines where the trees just stop leaving scrub oak and berry filled bushes where the black bears can be found foraging for enough to go into short hibernation due to short cold spells. I loved the pictures as they reminded me of much.
Your presentation of matching scripture was out standing. I loved the last fire photo, had you a scythe the fire and devilish grin you had would have been perfect, LOL, great picture as it was. I saved some of these in my "Allen/Sue family album" Samantha is no doubt all yours, much resemblance there and Sarah perhaps camera shy but she loves you deeply says the picture. It all makes me wish I was there. I had to vote all buttons up. The large spider webs are very cool to see as well,
Blessings and Love, peace

Beautiful pictures and one of a kind. I spent many summers with my kids and exhusband in Wisconsin. It is truly a beautiful place to visit and stay for a vacation. I especially liked your verse Isaiah 55:9, yes God's ways are higher than ours and we as christian's ways are higher than the sinner's of this world. We have to have compassion on them, and forgiveness! I marked you up on the hub. People who don't know how to enjoy nature and God's gift to us are really missing out in this life.
