You, You Are Responsible For The Poor and Unemployed

THIS IS A RANT

John 12:8 'For the poor always ye have with you. . .'

While I will include my religious beliefs in this rant, it must stated firstly that I have no political leanings but that does not mean I don't have eyes to see and ears to hear. I feel sorry for those who really believe change is possible working within the system because the system is fueled by money. The current president, Barack Obama, would not be where he is today without the absolutely insane amounts of donations that poured into his coffers. It was not by the grace of "God" he is there. And for all the conservatives, it wasn't by the grace of "God" George W. Bush and his family fortune were ever in office.

The United States has an astronomical unemployment rate, and up until now, federal benefits have helped many of these people keep their heads above water. Now, some people, a Republican filibuster, has tried to prevent those benefits from being renewed. There is a large segment of society that believes some people are simply lazy, or not trying. It would do no good to show these people the data, the facts that there are simply not enough decent paying jobs in this country for the ones who are currently unemployed. And by "DECENT," I mean jobs that actually allow people to make ends meet.

There is a lack of charity. I have heard people talk about not wanting charity to come through government, to leave that to other agencies, make it a private task.

The point that is being missed is, that would be fine, if mankind had not put themselves in control of the economy in the first place. Because government has wrested control of the economy from the hands of the Lord - Yes, it is your responsibility as a governmental body to care for the poor and unemployed.

When Hitler was amassing his powerbase, Edward Crankshaw wrote about the cynicism of the German people at the time. He said that it could separate "political action from private morals." That is where we are. We somehow think we can remain moral while doing things completely immoral for political reasons.

Genesis 4:11 'And now thou art cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand.'

Economic instability is simply a result of mankind getting away from the agrarian society Yahweh had always intended mankind to prosper from. In 1 Timothy 6:7-8, we are reminded that we were born with nothing, and we can take nothing with us - and while we are here - we should learn how to be content with food and raiment. This is not saying the things beyond those things are evil in themselves, but truth be told, we have made these 'wants' into necessities, often by law - and our greed to have far more than we need on a day by day basis, has left many without on a day by day basis. And still many don't care.

These many are Cain's spiritual offspring. They are the ones who are cursed and build cities where prairies and farms once stood. They didn't want to work to please the Lord - only themselves - much like Cain. They destroyed the foundation of the agrarian world making it nearly impossible for those who wish to live that way, to live that way.

Instead they erected an unstable platform of faith in vain and unnecessary discoveries and progress - invention unleashed the strength of the illegal fruit into the bloodstream of the world.

When mankind shaded the earth with this platform based on currency, coercion, and rape of the natural earth, it took responsibility for everyone on the earth. We are all sentenced to walk on this wobbly gangplank.

Murder

The true economy is one where everyone is dependent on the Lord for their basic needs on a day by day basis.  This involves having faith that what is needed will be provided.

Those who are cursed, or those who simply feel they are cursed, or even worse, those who don't want to simply exist in the basic will of the Lord, fight for power, for wealth, for security, for everything.

Those that were cursed were supposed to be dependent on those who were not for their basic needs.  Instead, they listened to the influences of their spiritual father and created a world where some have more, some have less, and some have nothing at all.  And in this world, it truly is king of the hill.  While the platform teeters back and forth, men and women scrabble about, pushing and shoving, claiming pieces of the platform, shoving others aside, casting them out in the abyss.  It is kill or be killed.  That is Cain - the one spilling the blood of his brother in the earth.

John 8:44 'Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye wil do.  He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth. . .'

By taking away the support, the benefits the unemployed in this country need, they are so far from the truth - they are murdering families.  Since you don't want to live the way Yahweh created for you, you are responsible and you can't separate your political and moral obligations - especially if you are in Christ.

Helping people does not make them lazy.  Giving them a business climate where decent work is shipped overseas by greedy individuals and corporations is what destroys their hope.  If politicians really want to show they are not in anyone's pocket, then nail the supposedly patriotic US corporations that have shipped all their decent jobs overseas and hired people over there for pennies.  But they won't.  As imperialist, we have set our flag in the soil of other nations, and killed off our own flower of youth protecting greedy industrialist who see dollar signs bleeding out of graves.

There is nothing fair or honest about the owner of a business, or the president of a company, or even shareholders, making more money than the employs who labor to provide that wealth.  That is exploitation no matter how you size it up.  If someone takes a greater share, for whatever reason, then they are having respect of persons - respect of themselves.

Business has made it so that many who don't want to be exploited are labelled as lazy.  They won't work in our mines, or do our work, so they are no good.

If you had left many of these the land the Lord gave them, they would have been blessed with fertile fields and you would be the one's begging for food.  But no, by coercion and by law, you claimed ownership of it - you stole it from those who first had it.  You justified it by your laws.

In Christ's system there is no unemployment, and there is no want.  Everyone has what they need - and those who don't are provided for by the charity of others.  No one is naked, or hungry or homeless.

But that is not the world you have built.  You created your world and now you are responsible.

So when those people who can find no work are asking for benefits, for help - you best remember that in the Lord it is a duty - and because you circumvented the Lord with your government - its your government's duty.

Otherwise, go back to living off the land, and lets see who really is blessed by the Lord, and who is not.  I got a feeling, even if we did - the Cain's of the world would soon take to redesigning this little fraudelent world of theirs that doesn't work - well at least not for those who are out of work, homeless and losing all hope.

Amen

What you have delineated AW is a sad but truthful reality. It is an emotional issue that has not only affected me personally, but my family and friends and many who share their pains on the net.

"In Christ's system there is no unemployment, and there is no want. Everyone has what they need - and those who don't are provided for by the charity of others. No one is naked, or hungry or homeless." AMEN! PRAISE GOD!!

Even though I am struggling myself, I feel for many of the fathers and single parents who merely want to work to provide for their families. They were hanging on by the thread of unemployment and then it snapped. Our nation, my friend, is in deep grief but it cannot share its sorrows with its government.

Thank you for sharing your sensitive thoughts.

Allen, an interesting "rant" as it was filled with common sense! I read a rant a few days back by one touting "the golden rule" do unto others as you would have them do to you! Love your enemy! Give until it hurts! and on he went. Then catching his breath he turned like a lion starving, loosed upon his hate and anger toward the Republicans of the right. Now that was a rant! Calling for love and sharing then condemning others with hate speech, running in circles chasing his tale while angry seeing the faults of all but missing the plank in his own eye. I'm not condemning his "rant" as I've seen days where my rage at the mixed up world we live in goes rabid! I contain my rage inside my own mind, it's a sin how I think often enough, Yahweh knows my heart and if I were to shout it out loud then the Devil he'd dance with glee! I'll not allow him the pleasure by taking part in this world of unfairness and the ire that it brings me. I'll drift off to my quiet thinking space and ask for the way I should go and understanding of the knowledge laid before us.

So you my friend and brother have provided sound thought that bears one to meditate upon and glean a message of support for those in need, to figure a way to help one and all. Most I'm afraid will read your words here and then go back to a beer and the TV chasing the sports or what ever they use for their own identity. I think even me, we all have self perception that is what we want to be but we project something else to those who watch our actions and hear our words.

Satan never made anyone do anything he just suggests it to one who picks it up and runs spreading it far and wide. People say the devil made me do it! Satan has possessed me against my will and made me greedy and selfish, to that I say simply bullshit!

You are correct we are responsible for all that we are. It will come out as things get worse just how evil men are and what they will do for a dollar to another human. Americans have a sense of entitlement, they feel that they deserve it all but will not raise a finger to help one another. I pray the proud and the greedy are brought to the bottom where they have to toil to survive and learn to barter their wares with each other to survive. The farmer, the cobbler, the mechanic and just who ever are brought down to humanities level, where one needs shoes and the cobbler needs corn and together one works with new boots on his feet and the other sits down to a meal of corn bread and beans, and it is all do to loving each other working in harmony to survive.

The ability to live like this we hold in our grasp but I see few taking part in that way of life. I highly recommend folks visit their local Mennonite community and see how it is they come together and live in harmony with 20 or 30 families all with their own input to their brothers and sisters. If I could do what I see is right in their life style I believe that I could be part of a community like theirs. The simple basics of life and they pray together and stay together it's quite a beautiful sight if one just stops and looks inside at what they do in the Name of the Lord, then meditates on it and finds a way to live as they do. I see a time coming when America will be forced back to the days of the great depression and folks HAD to lend a hand, I'm afraid I just ranted myself!

Peace and Love, dusty

Saundra, thank you for sharing in this with me. I want to write a more indepth hub on the subject but sometimes the emotion gets you deep down and you have to say something. There are indeed so many hanging on by a slim rope. I really wonder what they think will happen to these people when they are cast off? Are they going to simply slip silently into the ocean of forgotten souls, or will some of them speak up very loudly, perhaps most sadly, even resurrect themselves as criminals for the sake of survival. I am concerned. Peace.

Dusty, rant on my friend anytime you so wish. I love how you said that satan never made anyone do anything. That is so true. Satan is good at inspiring rebellion, inspiring doubt, inspiring greed. I wasn't sure what kind of comments I expected (if any) on this rant but I am grateful to see these - there are people who still wish the world could be as simple as doing right by others - treat others as you wish to be treated. Yes, I too see a great depression coming, followed by a great deal of anarchy and violence. It is truly time to gird ourselves with the gospel of peace - we are going to need it now more than ever. Peace.

Good rant, I am now following you. Agree with what was said, that Satan doesn't really force anyone to do anything, the "evil" is in us already, he just helps us find it.

So true 899! He knows our weaknesses and plays into them, teases us with them, flaunts them before our eyes, before our senses. My, it is so easy to rant. Peace.

Woa! Where was I when this was fresh, I wonder. . .

Yep, I'm "lazy," and proud of it. I don't want to be part of any system. I'll just be happy with what I can get :-D

"So when those people who can find no work are asking for benefits, for help - you best remember that in the Lord it is a duty - and because you circumvented the Lord with your government - its your government's duty."

Perfect argument! A lot of fiscally conservative Christians will say that it is the role of the church, not the government, to feed the hungry. Yet they want no separation of church and state. Therefore, they contradict themselves if they say it's not the government's place to help the poor. Believe me, I'm going to use that argument A LOT!

WTS - "Lazy" is really an opinion. What is lazy to one person is hardwork to another. I don't think the good Lord ever intended for us to be slaves to our work - and especially not slaves to businesses, corporations and the owners and stockholders of said institutions. If we do the work the Lord wants us to do, He will provide what we need and that should be good enough. Sadly, many are not satisfied with that. Peace

Lorenzo - take it and run with it! Governments as well as businesses have usurped the authority of the Creator. If they want His job, then they got to do the whole thing. Contradiction is often just a nice way of telling someone they are a hypocrite - and there are plenty of them in government. Peace

I am starting to realize that i'm dealing with a bunch of liberal Utopians that do not understand that God allows the devil to run this world for his own glory. Christians will be blessed with their needs if they work hard and follow God." Helping people does not make them lazy." yes it does, i see it in my own family, especially when they are helped over and over. The lazy "have nots" expecting the hard working "haves" to bail them out. Since when did the bible declare that all people are hard working ? it does not ,it does just the opposite. One more thing, in the future the bible teaches that we will live the the city of God not the farm of God. welfare has to have its limitations or we will create lazy people living on the hard work of others.

Barry B, if you are a Christian, then your first calling in life is to Christ's work which is heal the sick and aid the poor. At no time in Scripture does Christ tell His followers to reward the successful. It doesn't matter if people are users or not. A Christian's faith lies in doing what they have been instructed to do, no matter what the costs to them is. You however, choose to count the earthly costs which makes you no different than anyone else in the world. When you say "welfare has to have its limitations" then you are also saying "charity has to have its limitations" or "mercy has to have its limitations." Just remember, you are not perfect, and you are a fallen creature in this world age, and when you stand before the Lord, all your works in this world will be as filthy rags. It will be the mercy and charity you meted out that He will mete back to you. And if you put limits on your mercy and charity, He'll have no choice but to limits on His mercy and charity towards you. Peace
